Testimonials From Educators

The kinds of changes that Girls Moving Forward inspires in its students are truly unique. As an educator, I know how difficult it is to motivate low-performing students; Girls Moving Forward clearly has an ability to coach students to their peak performance.

I am very impressed with the after-school program Girls Moving Forward provides our girls. The Girls' Middle School mission focuses on providing a hands-on, innovative, and supportive learning environment where our girls can challenge themselves, develop their voices, and learn to think critically. The Girls Moving Forward motto "Be inspired. Be inspiring" complements our own by providing our girls with a creative, motivational, and supportive work environment. The experienced GMF Staff is in regular contact with our parents and teachers and works closely with our students to offer our girls exceptional guidance and student support.

The Girls' Middle School

I teach at an alternative public school in Santa Cruz. I had two pre-teen students in mind when I contacted Girls Moving Forward. Both of these students were self-conscious about their difficulties and performance in school. As they were preparing to enter traditional middle schools, these girls were struggling, both academically and emotionally, to get ready. Girls Moving Forward designed personalized tutoring programs aimed at each student’s individual areas of strength and weakness. Over the five months that my students received support, I noticed significant progress in their school work. My student with an IEP made tremendous growth towards her IEP goals, particularly in writing. Both struggled with reading and were below grade level. When assessed at the end of the year, I was quite please to see that my students were much closer to reading at grade level. These individualized services are so unique and so effective, I wholeheartedly recommend the Girls Moving Forward program.
